Codopress® and Codopress Premium
Until now more than 20 000 Codopress® compression garments have been manufactured. The product range is constantly expanding and the construction of the device has been modernised.
1.Description of the product:
Codopress® and Codopress® Premium compression garments are used for rehabilitation of burn and post-operative scars (compression therapy). The garments are made of high-plasticity breathable knitted fabric sewn with flat seams which minimises the risk of skin irritation.
All the materials used for production of Codopress® and Codopress® Premium compression garments have the Öko –Tex Standard 100 certificates proving their high quality and safety of use.
In order to assure the best results of compression therapy all Codopress® and Codopress® Premium garments are custom-made for the needs of a specific patient. Before manufacturing all the necessary measurements have to be taken.
Patients directed to TRICOMED SA have to have their wounds healed and without any dressings - this is a prerequisite for exact measurement and trying on the garments.
The product range of Codopress® and Codopress® Premium compression garments encompasses:
Codopress® and Codopress® Premium compression garments:
- ensure an appropriate compression of the scar – the garments provide 1st grade compression which guarantees the best effects in rehabilitation of burn and post-operative scars,
- can be used together with other therapies, including auxiliary compression therapy devices such as silicone dressings,
- do not provoke allergies or skin irritation,
- reduce itching,
- prevent joint spasms.
Recommendations and precautions:
- the device is intended for rehabilitation of hypertrophic burn and post-operative scars,
- the garments must not be used before the wound is completely healed,
- the therapy should last between 6 and 24 months, until clear signs of improvement are visible (the scar is flatter, less coloured and softer) – the decision regarding the end of therapy has to be made by a doctor,
- compression garments should be worn between 6 and 24 months for 23 hours a day, with necessary hygiene-related breaks (bath, massage) – only children younger than 1,5 years are advised to wear the garment at intervals: 3-4 hours followed by 1-2 hour break,
- in order to increase patient's comfort and the effectiveness of the therapy Codopress® and Codopress® Premium compression garments should be used together with CodosilTM Adhesive silicone dressing.
